SHAWNEE – Jeris Sandoval and Kevin Bigfoot of the Darlington Chiefs played in a dominating fashion jumping out to a 27-11 lead in the first half versus the Pleasant Grove Warriors. In the Division II ORES championship game, they ran the floor and executed well with their teammates. Every opportunity from a missed shot or steal, they capitalized on it. Sandoval who finished with 18 points, finished as the Division II tournament’s Most Valuable Player. Bigfoot finished with 15.
Kasai Burton was arguably the best PG in the games today with 23 points. He can shoot the long ball and he can get to the rack drawing numerous fouls. I loved watching this kid perform. Burton and Micah Anderson seemed to be the team’s main assets as they advanced to the championship game.
The Darlington Chiefs come away with a dominating win. 50-31 final score.
