Lady Rockets Finish Victorious in Thriller of a Game

SHAWNEE – Peggs Lady Panthers came in with the mindset of this is our house.  Lead by 5’5” PG Kaitlyn Spradlin, she and her teammates were relentless and played with no fear. Spradlin was the fuel to the fire dropping 10 points along with multiple steals and numerous impact plays. 5’7” F Harley Culie controlled the paint and made it very clear she was the general inside with 10 points.

The Rocky Mountain Lady Rockets would not be denied. With the sharp-shooting of 2021 guard Macie Sawney and 2022 guard Ashylnn Berry, this proved to be a battle to the finish. Berry was able to knock down shots from anywhere on the floor as Berry’s contributions were much needed to keep the game close.

With 3:00 minutes left in the game, the score was tied 31-31 and we knew this would be a barn-burner. It came down to the last seconds of the game with several hustle plays by the Rockets that would put themselves ahead for good. The Rockets finished with several free throws to put away the game. A contest for the ages, final score 40-38.

Ashlynn Berry is my daughter and I couldn’t be a prouder mom!!! She worked really hard to get to this day. Not only does she play school ball she also gives up her summer to play AAU ball with the Oklahoma All-Stars. Coached by Jami Guthrie-Springwater. Her goal is to go to North Carolina. And Peggs girls are all such nice and polite with great sportsmanship I am so proud of those girls as well they gave us a run for our money and never gave up.
