Lady Wildcats Too Much For Maidens

Naida Rodriguez
SHAWNEE – The Woodall Lady Wildcats seemed to be too much for the Briggs Maidens in the Division I Girls Championship Game. Lady Wildcat Jessica Mackey (11 points) never found a shot she didn’t like. From the low post to beyond the arc, she stroked it. Briggs’ feisty PG Naida Rodriguez never backed down from the competition as she pushed her small frame with will.

Alexsyah Goudeau and Carsen McCoy gave the Wildcats quality minutes as they sustained the lead throughout the game. Guards Savannah Wiggins, Stacy Folsum-Soap and Maekla Towie gave a valiant effort for Briggs but it just wasn’t enough to slow down the Lady Wildcats. 29-20 was the final score.

Jessica Mackey ran away with the Division I Tournament’s Most Valuable Player award.
