Muncy’s 29 Points Lead Lady Falcons to Victory

SHAWNEE – Friend came out the gate on fire jumping to a quick and early 6-0 lead. Darlington’s SG Bobbi Botone hit a big three, followed by a put back that placed Darlington back in the game just as fast.  At the end of the first quarter, the score was knotted at 10.

In the second quarter, Friend brought the heat once again. Caton Muncy put on one heck of a show for her team. She rebounded and squirmed her way through the defense, earning her way to the charity stripe. Friend led Darlington 19-12 at the half.

After leading 19-12 at the half, Muncy and The Lady Falcons opened a double digit lead.  Muncy was clearly in the driver’s seat this game, while the rest of her teammates jumped on board and kept feeding her the ball.  The Falcons closed out the third leading 32-21.

In the final quarter of play, Friend sustained the lead and never looked back. Darlington played with so much heart and determination but just couldn’t get their shots to fall.  Jaylin Reveles and Botone gave the Lady Chiefs all they could to no avail. Both teams were fun to watch and I look forward to watching these young ladies grow. Bobbi Botone finished the night scoring 11 points.

Caton Muncy

MVP went to Friend Lady Falcon’s ’21 Caton Muncy. Muncy had a remarkable night.  She had 29 points and played with integrity and pride.  She grabbed just about every rebound that came her way and was nearly flawless from the line.  She hustled after every loose ball, even on a dead ball, she would run to the ball and then hand it to the ref.  She is absolutely one that you would like to have on your team, simply because of her relentless work ethic.  Very well deserving of the MVP award in this game.
